It's never to late to try to become a pro
Hi, it's Nack Sekigawa. I'm 20 years old and a 2nd grade college student in Tokyo.
I started playing tennis quite late
I started playing tennis when I was 16 years old. This might seem a bit late but one can always try. My ultimate aim is to become a pro tennis player.
Hard work always beats talent
I'm on court to defeat "talented players" and if I proof successful winning enough of these matches then it will prove my efforts well worth. Success come through hard work and dedication.
My tennis training setup
Now I also coach as a part-time worker to earn money. The tennis academy that I belong to allows me to practice for about 25 or 27 hours a week. Usually I train 3 hours in mornings and 2 hours in the evening. Add to that my time as a coach where I help other players 5 days a week.
You think this it too much practicing? Don't worry, I have half a day off on Saturday and my personal physical trainer works to strengthen my body 1 or 2 a week.
Playing tournaments is also important - hence I play as much of them within any long vacation of my colleague.
